According to a new More in Common survey, nearly half of Gen Z Americans (47 per cent) agree that “sometimes it’s OK for leaders to set aside democratic principles (eg constitutional checks and balances) to fix the economy” compared to 29 per cent of all Americans. A quarter of Gen Z (25 per cent) say they “don’t really care” about the constitution. And only four in ten Gen Z-ers (42 per cent) say democracy is “definitely the best” form of government for America.
