Ricky is a doctoral candidate in Social Psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center studying the causes, consequences, and remedies for contemporary male social isolation. His early research in this area identified a physical intimacy gap in men’s friendships with other men, and his current work investigates the normative and cognitive mechanisms that may underpin it. Ricky holds an M.P.H. in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and a B.A. in Sociology from Ithaca College. His research draws on this interdisciplinary background and extensive experience with qualitative and quantitative methods to explore complex questions about human behavior and social connection.
